The Swiss Museum of Transport Signs with Smeetz for Modern Ticketing Management

Posted on July 15, 2024

The Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne is the most visited museum in the country, with approximately one million visitors annually, and serves as an important extracurricular learning venue. It showcases an impressive collection of historical vehicles, airplanes, ships, and trains, vividly documenting the development of mobility. Interactive exhibitions, simulations, and immersive worlds captivate visitors of all ages, making the museum an unforgettable experience. Alongside the museum, the planetarium, cinema, and Swiss Chocolate Adventure are part of the diverse offerings of the Swiss Museum of Transport.

We are delighted to announce the new partnership between Smeetz and the Swiss Museum of Transport. After a thorough analysis of needs and an intensive evaluation phase, the museum has chosen Smeetz's innovative solution. The museum's current system will be replaced by an advanced unified commerce platform, offering cutting-edge technology and comprehensive features.

The partnership aims to drive digitalization and optimize the museum's sales activities. Efficiency will be increased, the customer journey enhanced, and work processes streamlined. Through the introduction of advanced technologies and the integration of all sales processes into a single system, the museum will be able to provide visitors with an even better and smoother experience.

By the end of 2024, Smeetz's unified commerce platform will manage the sales of tickets, packages, merchandise, memberships, and other products both online, in the back office, and on-site through its own point-of-sale system. This solution allows for centralized control of all sales processes, offering a modern, stable, and innovative package.

Key internal tools include detailed analyses and statistics, as well as the transfer of payment entries into the accounting system.

Marcel Gstädtner, Head of Sales, Swiss Museum of Transport:

"Our goal is to implement a modern, digital, and customer-friendly ticketing system at the museum. Online and on-site ticket sales represent a crucial factor. The complexity of different ticket types and categories, combined with various attractions and schedules, poses a particular challenge. We are confident that we have found an innovative and reliable partner in Smeetz, capable of fully meeting our requirements and thus contributing to achieving our goals."

Sarina Erni, Sales Director DACH:

"Collaborating with the largest museum in Switzerland is a significant milestone for Smeetz and demonstrates our growing importance in the ticketing and commerce sector. This partnership is particularly special for me, as the Swiss Museum of Transport has always been a fascinating place during my childhood, and I have been able to prepare this project with the museum team for a long time. Now, the implementation is finally beginning, and I look forward to this collaboration!"
